In countries of Hindu tradition, the western-inspired Father's Day is celebrated on the new moon day (Amavasya) during late August or early September, to fit the existing Hindu worship of fathers. This is common among countries with Hindu majorities like in India and Nepal

Nepal

The Hindu population in Nepal worships fathers in Gokarna Aunsi (literally "Father's Day"), which happens in late August or early September. Also know as Bubako mukh herne din (translates as "looking at father’s face"), In the new moon day (Amavasya) many people go to the Shiva temple of Gokarneswor Mahadev, in Gokarna, a suburb of Kathmandu.
The date of the Western-inspired Father's Day was moved in Nepal to 23 August to fit the pre-existing this pre-existing Hindu festival.

Roman Catholic tradition

In the Roman Catholic tradition, Fathers are celebrated on Saint Joseph's Day, commonly called Feast of Saint Joseph, March 19, though in certain countries Father's Day has become a secular celebration. It is also common for Catholics to honor their "spiritual father," their parish priest, on Father's Day

Modern Father's Day was invented by Sonora Smart Dodd, born in Creston, Washington. When Sonora was 16, her mother died in childbirth with her sixth child. Sonora was the only daughter and shared with her father William in the raising of her younger brothers, including her new infant brother Marshall. Sonora Smart married John Bruce Dodd (1870-1945), one of the original founders of Ball & Dodd Funeral Home, and had a son, Jack Dodd, born in 1909.

Sonora Smart held her father in great esteem. While hearing a church sermon about the newly recognized Mother's Day, Sonora felt strongly that Fatherhood needed recognition as well. She approached the Spokane Ministerial Alliance and suggested her own father's birthday of June 5 as the day of honor for fathers. The Alliance chose the third Sunday in June instead.

In the US, Father's Day is celebrated on the third Sunday of June. Its first celebration was in Spokane, Washington on June 19, 1910


Why Celebrating Non-Muslims Festivals are Forbidden in Islam????


1-Father's Day is a Christian/Hindu's festival, celebrating their festivals means approving
Christian/Hindu faith/beliefs. be careful to avoid falling into the misguidance of those who have earned the anger of Allaah and of those who went astray, and of the evildoers who hope not for reward from Allaah and do not show any respect towards Islam.


It is narrated on the authority 'Abdullah b. Mas'ud that the Messenger of Allah (may peace and blessings be upon him) observed: Never a Prophet had been sent before me by Allah towards his nation who had not among his people (his) disciples and companions who followed his ways and obeyed his command. Then there came after them their successors who said whatever they did not practise, and practised whatever they were not commanded to do.
1-He who strove against them with his hand was a believer:
2- He who strove against them with his tongue was a believer,
3-And he who strove against them with his heart was a believer,
4-and beyond that there is no faith even to the extent of a mustard seed.
(Sahi muslim Book #001, Hadith #0081)


رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نے فرمایا
مجھ سے پہلے جس امّت میں نبی بھیجا گیا ہے اس نبی کے کچھ دوست اور اصحاب (حَوَارِيُّونَ وَأَصْحَابٌ ) ہوتے تھے .وہ اپنے نبی کے احکام کو مضبوطی سے پکڑ لیتے تھے اور ان کی پیروی کرتے تھے. پھر ہمیشہ ایسا ہوا کہ بعد میں کچھ اسے لوگ بھی ہوگے جو کہتے وہ تھے جو کرتے نہیں تھے .اور کرتے وہ تھے جس کا حکم ہی نہیں ہوا (خلافے سننت کام کرنا جو ان کی ہی ایجاد کردہ رسومات ہوتی تھیں ) جب ایسی صورت پیدہ ہو جائے تو جو مسلمان ان کے خلاف جہاد کرےگا اپنے ہاتھ اپنی طاقت سے وہ مومن ہوگا. اور جو مسلمان ان کے خلاف جہاد کرےگا اپنی زبان سے وہ مومن ہوگا. اور جو مسلمان ان کے خلاف جہاد کرےگا اپنے دل سے (دل میں اس عمل کوبرا جانےگا ) وہ مومن ہوگا. اس کے بعد امان ر آئی کے دانے کے برابر بھی نہیں رہ جاتا (جن میں یہ ٣ درجہ امان ہوگا بس وہی مومن ہیں )



2-One of the bad effects of imitating them is that this makes it look as if there are more of them, as if they have more supporters and followers. How can it be appropriate for a Muslim who recites in every rak’ah, “Guide us to the Straight Way, The way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace, not(the way) of those who earned Your Anger, nor of those who went astray”

ہمیں سیدھا راستہ دکھا
ان لوگوں کا راستہ جن پر تو نے انعام کیا نہ جن پر تیرا غضب نازل ہوا اور نہ وہ گمراہ ہوئے

[al-Faatihah 1:6-7 – interpretation of the meaning], to ask Allaah for guidance to the Straight Path of the believers and to keep him away from the path of those who have earned His anger and of those who went astray, then go and follow their path by choice and willingly?


3- In Islam, the festivals are clearly defined and well established, and no additions or subtractions may be accepted. They are an essential part of our worship and there is no room for ijtihaad or personal opinion. They have been prescribed for us by Allaah and His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Ibn Taymiyah (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

“Festivals are part of the laws, clear way and religious ceremonies of which Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):


“To each among you, We have prescribed a law and a clear way”

نے تم میں سے ہر ایک کے لیے ایک شریعت اور واضح راہ مقرر کر دی ہ ہے

[al-Maa’idah 5:48]

“For every nation We have ordained religious ceremonies which they must follow”

ہم نے ہر قوم کے لیے ایک دستور مقرر کر دیا ہے جس پر وہ چلتے ہیں

[al-Hajj 22:67]

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) referred to the fact that every nation has its own festivals when he said: ‘Every nation has its own Eid and this is our Eid’ (al-Bukhaari , 952, Muslim, 1892).” (al-Iqtidaa’, 1/471-472)

4-Imitating the kuffaar in general –whether they are idol-worshippers or People of the Book – is haraam, whether that imitation is of their worship – which is the most serious form – or of their customs and behaviour. This is indicated by the Qur’aan, Sunnah and ijmaa’ (scholarly consensus):

(i) From the Qur’aan: Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

And be not as those who divided and differed among themselves after the clear proofs had come to them. It is they for whom there is an awful torment”[Aal
‘Imraan 3:105]

ان لوگو ں کی طرح مت ہو جو متفرق ہو گئے بعد اس کے کہ ان کے پاس واضح احکام آئے انہوں نے اختلاف کیا اور ان کے لیے بڑا عذاب ہے


(ii) From the Sunnah:

the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

“Whoever imitates a people is one of them.”

" جس كسى نے بھى كسى قوم سے مشابہت اختيار كى تو وہ انہى ميں سے ہے "
(narrated by Ahmad, 2/50; Abu Dawood, 4021)


We ask Allaah to protect the Muslims from the harm of temptations and from the evil of their own selves and the plots of their enemies, for He is the All-hearing Who answers prayers. May Allaah send blessings upon His slave and Messenger Muhammad, and upon all his family and companions
